নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : খুলনা-৪ আসনে দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন নিয়ে ব্যাপক তোড়জোড় শুরু হয়েছে। আওয়ামী লীগ সহ বিভিন্ন দলের প্রায় এক ডজন প্রার্থী প্রচার প্রচারণা চালাচ্ছেন।
এর মধ্যে বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ও সাবেক আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা মরহুম শেখ নজির আহমেদের পুত্র, তথ্যপ্রযুক্তিতে দক্ষ তরুণ ব্যক্তিত্ব মেধাবী প্রকৌশলী শেখ মুনির আহমেদকে নিয়ে এলাকার সাধারণ মানুষের ব্যাপক আগ্রহ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
এলাকার সাধারণ মানুষের সাথে কথা বলে জানা গেছে, দিঘলিয়া উপজেলার সেনহাটী গ্রামের অধিবাসী বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মরহুম শেখ নজির আহমেদের পুত্র প্রকৌশলী মুনির আহমেদ। তিনি দিঘলিয়া উপজেলার ঐতিহ্যবাহী আলহাজ্ব সারোয়ার খান কলেজের পরিচালনা পর্যদের সভাপতি।
বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা শেখ নজির আহমেদ ছিলেন জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের প্রভাবশালী ও ত্যাগী নেতা। তিনি সারাজীবন ব্যয় করেছেন দলের জন্য। সৎ ও নিরহংকারী এ বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধার মেয়ে ওয়াহিদা আক্তার শিলা প্রধান মন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার সাবেক পিস-২ ও বর্তমানে কৃষিমন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব।
উচ্চ পর্যায়ের সরকারি কর্মকর্তা হওয়া সত্বেও তিনি অত্র অঞ্চলের সাধারণ মানুষের কল্যাণ সাধন করেন। বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মরহুম শেখ নজির আহমেদের আরেক মধোবী সন্তান লতিফা আহমেদ মিলা ।
তিনি বর্তমানে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ে ডেপুটি ডাইরেক্টর হিসেবে কর্মরত। স্ত্রী মরহুম হালিমা নজির একজন লেখিকা । তাঁর মরুতীর্থ কাবা ও শতজীবনের ভীড়ে – নামে দুটি গ্রন্থ রয়েছে।
এলাকাবসী আরও জানায়, বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধ শেখ নজির আহমেদ ওয়েলফেয়ার ফাউন্ডেশন এর মাধ্যমে এই পরিবারের সদস্যরা এলাকার উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন।
এ ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারম্যান প্রকৌশলী শেখ মুনির আহমেদ। ইত্যোমধ্যে এ ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে দিঘলিয়ায় ৫০ শয্যা বিশিষ্ট একটি ডায়াবেটিক হাসপাতাল নির্মানের উদ্যোগ হাতে নিয়েছে। চলতি অর্থ বছরে হাসপাতাল নির্মান কাজ শুরু হবে বলে জানা গেছে।
এছাড়া ফাউন্ডেশনের বিভিন্ন সেবামূলক কর্মকাণ্ড ব্যাপক প্রশংসা কুড়িয়েছে। এলাকাবাসী মনে করে বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা শেখ নজির আহমেদের পরিবারের মতো একটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী প্রচারবিমুখ
আলোকিত পরিবারের সন্তান প্রকৌশলী শেখ মুনির আহমেদের মতো প্রযুক্তিগত মেধা সম্পন্ন ব্যক্তিকে সংসদ সদস্য পদে মনোনয়ন দিলে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশের কার্যক্রমে খুলনা -৪ আসনের মানুষ ব্যাপক অবদান রাখতে সক্ষম হবে।
