নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : বিপুল ভোটে নির্বাচিত ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান থাকা অবস্থায় পিতা-পুত্র হত্যা মামলায় জড়িয়ে শুধু বরখাস্তই হননি, দীর্ঘদিন কারাভোগ করেছেন। কারাগারাধীণ অবস্থায় সর্বশেষ ইউপি চেয়ারমান নির্বাচনে স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী হিসেবে বিপুল ভোটে পুনরায় নির্বাচিত হন। পরে জামিনে মুক্ত হলেও বরখাস্তের খড়গ নেমে আসে।
এভাবে বহু চড়াই-উতরাই পেরিয়ে খুলনার তেরখাদা উপজেলার ছাগলাদহ ইউনিয়নের চেয়ারম্যান এসএম দ্বীন ইসলাম জনতার মাঝে ফিরেছেন। গতকাল সোমবার দুপুরে চেয়ারম্যান দ্বীন ইসলাম ইউনিয়ন পরিষদে যাচ্ছেন শুনে হাজার হাজার নারী-পুরুষ, শিশু-বৃদ্ধ-বনিতার ঢল নামে।
আচমকা উপস্থিত হন খুলনা-৪ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য আব্দুস সালাম মূর্শেদী, উপজেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান মোঃ শহিদুল ইসলাম, উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা মোঃ আসাদুজ্জামান, থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) সরদার মোশাররফ হোসেন, উপজেলা আ’লীগের সভাপতি ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান এফ এম অহিদুজ্জামানও। বিপুল জনতার তাৎক্ষনিক উপস্থিতিতে ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের দায়িত্ব গ্রহন করার এক আবেগঘন পরিবেশের সৃষ্টি হয়।
ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান দ্বীন ইসলাম বলেন, আমি এই ইউনিয়নের পর পর ৩বার জনগণের ভোটে নির্বাচিত চেয়ারম্যান এবং ২০১৩ থেকে ২০২১ সাল পর্যন্ত ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতির দায়িত্ব পালন করেছি। আমি ও আমার পরিবার মানুষের জন্য কাজ করে আসছি, ছাগলাদহ ইউনিয়নের বিভিন্ন উন্নয়নসহ মানুষের জীবনমান সহজ করতে ধারাবাহিক ভাবে কাজ করছি।
ফলে উন্নয়ন বিরোধী একটি কুচক্রী মহল আমার জনপ্রিয়তায় ইর্ষান্বিত হয়ে ষড়যন্ত্রমূলক মিথ্যা মামলা দিয়ে আমাকে হয়রানী করছে। হত্যা মামলায় ষড়যন্ত্রমুলক ভাবে আমাকে জরিয়ে বিনা অপরাধে জেল খাটিয়েছে। কারাগারে থেকেই বিপুল ভোটে চেয়ারম্যান নির্বাচিত হয়েছি।
তিনি আরো বলেন, আমার ইউনিয়নবাসী আমাকে চেনে-জানে আমি কেমন মানুষ। নয়তো তিন তিন বার চেয়ারম্যান হতাম না। আজ আবারও তাঁরা প্রমাণ করলো যে জনগণ আমাকে কতটুকু ভালোবাসে। এসব মিথ্যা মামলা দিয়ে কাউকে দমিয়ে রাখতে পারবে না। সত্যের জয় অবশ্যই আল্লাহ পাক রাখে।
সূত্রমতে, গত ২২ অক্টোবর খুলনা জেলা প্রশাসক কার্যালয়ের স্থানীয় সরকার শাখার সহকারী কমিশনার মাসুম বিল্লাহ স্বাক্ষরিত পত্রে সাময়িক বরখাস্ত আদেশ প্রত্যাহার করায় দায়িত্ব পালনে বাঁধা নেই মর্মে জানিয়েছেন।
