নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : বঙ্গবন্ধুর ভ্রাতুষ্পুত্র ও খুলনা-২ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য সেখ সালাহউদ্দিন জুয়েল বলেছেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে বাংলাদেশ সকল ক্ষেত্রে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে। নিজস্ব অর্থায়নে বড় বড় মেগা প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়ন করা হচ্ছে। ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ আরো ভালো অবস্থানে যাবে।
তিনি আজ (শনিবার) খুলনা আযম খান সরকারি কমার্স কলেজের প্রাক্তন ছাত্র সমিতি আয়োজিত পুনর্মিলনী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তৃতায় একথা বলেন।
উদ্বোধনকালে খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র তালুকদার আব্দুল খালেক বলেন, দেশ ও জাতির কল্যাণে আযম খান সরকারি কমার্স কলেজ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রাখছে। স্বনামধন্য এই উচ্চ শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের অনেক শিক্ষার্থী দেশে ও বিদেশে বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে সুনামের সাথে দায়িত্ব পালন করছে। শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে পুনর্মিলনী আয়োজন নিঃসন্দেহে একটি প্রশংসনীয় উদ্যোগ। এ ধরণের অনুষ্ঠান সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানের জন্য গৌরবোজ্জ্বল দিন হিসেবে স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে। নতুন ও পুরাতন শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে মেলবন্ধনে এই অনুষ্ঠান হয়ে উঠবে উৎসব ও আনন্দময়। এই পুনর্মিলনী অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্য দিয়ে পুরাতন বন্ধুদের দেখা পাওয়া ও মনের আদান-প্রদান হয়।
অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তৃতা করেন খুলনা-৩ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য এস এম কামাল হোসেন। বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তৃতা করেন খুলনা বিশ^বিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. মাহমুদ হোসেন ও আযম খান সরকারি কমার্স কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ প্রফেসর কার্ত্তিক চন্দ্র মন্ডল। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন পুনর্মিলনী উদযাপন কমিটির আহবায়ক এ্যাডভোকেট মোঃ সাইফুল ইসলাম। এতে প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী মোঃ মিজানুর রহমান মিজান, খুলনা প্রেসক্লাবের সভাপতি এস এম নজরুল ইসলাম, প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী সেকেন্দার জাফর উল্লাহ খান সাচ্চু, প্রাক্তন ছাত্র সমিতির সভাপতি প্রফেসর সেলিনা বুলবুল ও প্রাক্তন সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোঃ জামাল উদ্দিন বাচ্চু বক্তৃতা করেন। অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন পুনর্মিলনী উদযাপন কমিটির সমন্বয়ক অধ্যক্ষ মোঃ শহিদুল হক মিন্টু। এসময় মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এমডিএ বাবুল রানা, বঙ্গবন্ধুর ভ্রাতুষ্পুত্র ও নৌপরিবহন মালিক গ্রুপের সহসভাপতি শেখ জালাল উদ্দিন রুবেল প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থীরা স্মৃতিচারণ করেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে অবদান রাখার জন্য প্রাক্তন ৩৮জন শিক্ষার্থীকে সম্মাননা ক্রেস্ট প্রদান করেন প্রধান অতিথি।
এর আগে মেয়রের নেতৃত্বে কলেজ প্রাঙ্গণ থেকে বর্ণাঢ্য শোভাযাত্রা শুরু হয়ে বিভিন্ন সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ করে একইস্থানে এসে শেষ হয়। শোভাযাত্রায় প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশ নেন।
