নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : বটিয়াঘাটায় প্রতিপক্ষের হামলায় আহত হয়ে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন ৫ জনের মধ্যে ইউপি সদস্য নজরুল এবং তার ছেলে জহিরুল ইসলাম সোহাগের অবস্থা আশংকাজনক।
এদিকে হামলার এক সপ্তাহ অতিবাহিত হলেও এঘটনায় মামলা দায়ের বা ঘটনার সাথে জড়িত কেউ গ্রেফতার হয়নি। আহত অন্যান্যরা হলেন বাহারুল ইসলাম রুপক (২৫), হান্নান শেখের পুত্র নাঈম শেখ (২৫) ও আঃ সালামের পুত্র তরিকুল ইসলাম (৩৫)।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী ও ভুক্তভোগী পরিবার সূত্রে জানা গেছে, গত ১৭ জানুয়ারি দুপুরে উপজেলার হেলাবটতলা নামক স্থানে জমিজমা সংক্রান্ত বিরোধের জের ধরে ওই গ্রামের জনৈক জাহাঙ্গীর, খানজাহান এবং মহিউদ্দিনের নেতৃত্বে একদল দুর্বৃত্ত প্রতিপক্ষের উপর হামলা চালায়।
হামলায় গোলাম রহমানের পুত্র, ৫নং ভান্ডারকোট ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের ৯নং ওয়ার্ড ইউপি সদস্য নজরুল ইসলাম শেখ ও তার দুই পুত্রসহ ৫জন গুরুত্বর আহত হয়।
এ সময় স্থানীয়দের সহযোগিতায় পরিবারের অন্যান্য সদস্যরা তাদেরকে দ্রুত খুলনা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করে। সেখানে অবস্থার অবনতি হলে তাদেরকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে প্রেরণ করা হয়।
নজরুল ইসলামের স্ত্রী রোজিনা খাতুন জানান, ঘটনার দিন দুপুর সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে পার্শ্ববর্তী আমিরপুর ইউনিয়নের হেলাবটতলা নামক স্থানে উভয়পক্ষের জমিজমা সংক্রান্ত বিষয় নিয়ে সরকারি সার্ভেয়ার পরিদর্শন করতে আসেন।
পরিদর্শনের শেষে সার্ভেয়ার চলে যাওয়ার পরপর উভয়পক্ষের মধ্যে কথা-কাটাকাটি ও হাতাহাতি হয়। মূহুর্তের মধ্যে পূর্ব থেকে ওৎ পেতে থাকা জাহাঙ্গীরের নেতৃত্বে একদল দূর্বৃত্ত চাপাতি দিয়ে নজরুল ইসলামসহ তার পরিবারের সদস্যর উপর হামলা চালায়।
বটিয়াঘাটা থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ রিপন কুমার সরকার বলেন, বিষয়টি সম্পর্কে আমি অবগত আছি। আহতরা চিকিৎসার জন্য ঢাকায় থাকায় এখনো মামলা রেকর্ড করা সম্ভব হয়নি। তবে হামলাকারীদের গ্রেফতারে পুলিশ তৎপর রয়েছে।
